Periodontics Gum Surgery Videos
- Receding Gum Root Coverage - Growing New Gum Tissue
Periodontal tunneling is a popular and effective grafting procedure to augment or replenish lost or compromised tissue. See how the gingival tissues are prepared for tunneling and the actual process of moving the graft material through the tunnel into precise locations. A proprietary suturing technique is used to create the normal snug fit for each anterior tooth while simultaneously raising the gum line higher, thereby reversing the appearance of a minor receding gum line. Video footage provided by Edward Brant, DDS, MS, Long Island, NY.
- Gum Recession: An Anatomy
A brief discussion of anatomical characteristics of gum recession. In this particular case the recession discussion is limited to an upper jaw tooth structure. Relationships between soft tissue loss and impending hard tissue (bone) loss are further detailed.

- Gingival Tissue Harvesting - Gum Grafting Surgery
An EXTREMELY GRAPHIC (warning - excising of live tissue is demonstrated) film clip that provides a visual outline of the steps involved in Periodontal tissue harvesting. In this particular treatment, a patient is undergoing gum tissue grafting to eliminate gum recession caused by periodontitis. - Gum Tissue Grafting: Gingival Recession Repair
A GRAPHIC 8 minute video demonstrating an entire gum grafting procedure, from start to finish, for repairing tissue damage caused by gum recession. Grafting tissue was provided by the patient, excised from the roof of the mouth. Watch and learn how severe gum recession on one or more tooth structures can be modified to produce the desired aesthetic results and to help manage or halt on-going bone loss.

- Orthodontic Cuspid Uncovering - Non Surgical Laser Alternative
Orthodontic treatment frequently requires specialized procedures to "pull down" one or more tooth structures. In this treatment example, an impacted cuspid is treated via laser treatments to expose the tooth structure that will enable the mounting of an ortho bracket to begin the process. Non surgical lasing eliminated the need for invasive tissue surgery and suturing. Provided by Dr. James Sanderson of Birmingham Alabama.
